about

This e.p. has been released to coincide with World Mental Health Day.

Mental health, unlike many physical illnesses, often still carries a stigma.
We need to open up the conversation and feel free to talk about our
mental health and to enable those who are suffering to talk about theirs.
We mustn't be shy or coy. If you think somebody might be having problems,
talk to them. If you're having problems, please talk to somebody.

If you feel there's nobody to talk to, there are many organisations who can help.
Don't be alone.

There are many more, all over the World, all doing good work,
all helping.

lyrics

'Quickstep' is a song about being saved, both mentally and physically, when all else seems lost. It's intended as a tribute to the people who are there for us. Whoever they might be - charity workers, mental health professionals, first-responders, our friends and family. It was initially inspired by, Scott Hutchison of Frightened Rabbit, who lost the fight earlier this year. It's for Scott and to everybody else who didn't make it. It's also a tribute and a heartfelt 'Thank You' to those people who help us get through another day.

Now I'm spread too thin,
Too thin this time
Stretched out, lined up arms wide
Now I'm outside blind
Coagulated, staring at the coastline
Eviscerated, waiting for the punchline

New blood thickens
Old heart quickstep
Cold compression

Now I'm grounded,
Not left for dead
Red veins deepen
Into blue blood clots
Heart pushed harder
Breath won't stop,
Her pulse beats harder,
Her breath won't stop.

New blood thickens
Old heart quickstep
Cold compression
Her breath won't stop.
